coputer crash

It happened like this, I turned on my trusty laptop and nothing. Blank, black screen. Nothing was happening. So I did what anyone in this situation does. I turned it on  and off  again and again and again. I don’t know why I did it three times, I just did.   But there was no joy. Insanity is really doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

It is  Week 7 of my 90 Day Challenge Update and  I was once again failed by the technology that was supposed to make life easier.

This was like deja va – and I could not believe that this was happening afterall how can you be The Digital Mum without a laptop?

Let’s face, a basic requirement is a laptop and an internet connection.

Now I was without my laptop.

The Digital Mum needs a laptop.

But before, I fork out money on this problem, I turned to a very trusty source on the web for a possible solution  –

You Tube.

You can literally find anything on You Tube.

If you can ask it there is probably someone out there who has made a video about how to do it.

So I typed in ‘ blank computer screen not booting up’.

I was provided with several fixes which I tried but alas , my computer was not ready to be revived on this occasion.

I have to be honest here and it felt like the wind had been taken out of me.

I was   firstly really cross with my self because I had signed up to cloud storage but had not fully set it up and had been manually saving what I needed and yes you guessed it, I hadn’t saved the posts that I had prepared for the forthcoming week.

All those hours of work gone.

A Lesson is learnt – technology is great but always have it backed up.

It is  a simple rule and one I wished I had recently taken heed of.

It can be so simple to back up your work and cos I’m not technical  like that (I know  what you’re thinking but you do not have to be technical to get started out on line, that’s the beauty  of the digital world, if you can’t do it then you can guarantee that there will be someone out there  who can).

Let me refer to  someone who can tell you exactly How to back up your computer.

So, if I am to continue the journey of The Digital Mum, I guess I’d better be off to get me a new laptop.

Spreading the word about the digital World

Because There is Another Way
