the digital mum

I’m guessing that you’ve come to this site as you were looking for something to help you make some changes in your life.

Maybe you were looking for a way to use the internet to build some income for you and your family?

Or maybe just looking for some inspiration?

Or to learn how to really get to grips with this internet blog building and website stuff?

Maybe you’ve been searching for a while now and your email box is full of offers that you have been bombarded with and frankly you don’t know where to start?

You may even be thinking does this digital stuff really work?

It’s fine to be sceptical after all that is inbuilt in our nature and keeps us safe from doing the wrong thing or being taken in by our long lost uncles in parts of the world we had never heard of before.

We are programmed to question and to ask how things work and to work out for ourselves if this is right for us.

What is The Digital Mum and what can you show me?

I’m a mum myself and know what it is like to juggle family, home and work.

I know what it is like to be exhausted and to have demands placed on you from all corners of life.

I know that I’ve always thought that there has to be something more than this.

Something better to make life easier and to give me more time to spend with my family when they were growing up. But for me that was over 18 years ago, my children are more grown up now (only in physical form!), the opportunities with the internet that are readily available now weren’t around back then. It’s hard to believe that there has been such a change in the way we live and how our world has become so digital in such a short space of time.

I recall the feeling over the years, searching for something that allowed me freedom to do the things that I wanted to do and not be tied to someone else’s agenda.

I just didn’t know how at first it all worked and didn’t know how to make sense of this new digital world we live in.

So over the last few years, I have been searching the internet, researching programs and reading everything that I could find so I could learn as much as much as I could about and how this all works.

The Digital Mum is everything I have learnt along the way.

It is here to help you to avoid the mistakes I made when I first started out online. I’m not going to sugar coat it. Some of it will be grim but there is only one way to stop this perpetuating cycle that has started out on the internet, that is to get it out in the open.

It’s no use me saying I’ve made mistakes along the way, you would probably be thinking what mistakes. Tell me, I want to avoid those, right?

Yes, I’ll be covering all of that on The Digital Mum.

The Digital Mum, is here to help other women who may be raising a family or maybe their brood is at the point of leaving the nest as mine are.

The Digital Mum is here to help you decide if this online stuff is right for you (cos this is not for everyone).

Brendon Burchard says

“When you knock on the door of opportunity, it is work that answers”.

You need to be prepared to do the work and to take action in order to see any results if you want to learn about the online lifestyle.

Lesson 1: The Importance of Mindset

I’ve discovered from my mentors, thought leaders and business owners and from my own research, that you have to start with you.

You are the key to your success and you are the key to your failure.

Earl Nightingale, in The Strangest Secret was my starting point, he asks why does one person succeed and the other fail when they started out at the same starting point, with the same education?

It is one of those talks that I go back to time and time again.

Take 30 minutes to listen to The Strangest Secret by Earl Nightingale

You can go out and buy any number of programs to get an education about the using the internet to earn an income. You can spend thousands of £’s or $’s on training, programs and books but at the end of the day if you haven’t approached this with the right mindset then you are simply not going to make it.

I’m sorry to have to have to break it to you this way but that was the first lesson that I learnt.

Mindset is so, so important to your success.

So in The Digital Mum, I will be talking about your mindset and your personal development.

That part in the end is down to you and only you, I can show you the tools and resources that helped me along the way.

I’ll hold your hand but I can’t do it for you.

Lesson 2: Discover your Passion

The next thing you need to work out is

What are able to offer?

The starting point is You.

You and your passion.

What I learnt along my journey of education and self-discovery, is that if you are out just looking to make money, then this just isn’t the way to go around it and you will most likely fail.

Starting with making money in mind is not the best place to approach anything in life. Yes, we all want to make money, hell we all need it to live in this world but if you chase the money then you lose the essence of you and what your values are about.

First you need to discover your passion.

Then share it with others.

I know it seems too simple.

By doing this you will find that your passion will help you to create something –  a whole new way of life and lifestyle for you.

It is in this creating this new lifestyle that you will find that your life with change.

It is all about making this internal shift first and discovering you and your passion.

I’ll be digging deeper into helping you think about your passions and connecting with your passions again as we go along.

Lesson 3 – Learning the skills to build a business on line

I hear you, you’ve been thinking all well and good about this mind set malarkey and passion stuff but I need to know how to do it. How do I make money online and build a lifestyle business.

That is why The Digital Mum has been put together.

But don’t rush ahead before you cover the first stages, believe me it will save you months of frustration.

The skills you need to learn online can be challenging because if you are like me then you didn’t grow up in a digital world.

This is all new to you.

You’ve had to adapt and learn and change the way you do things.

Take something as simple as shopping.

There’s been such a change in this simple day to day task.

In the digital world, if we wanted to, we don’t have to get the kids in the car, coax them to sit in the trolley, or bribe them with a sweet at the end if they behave.

Thanks to the internet, digital mums all over the world can simply log on and do their shopping from the comfort of their home.

Then it is delivered to their door and they never have to contend with crying children or tantrums in the store. Fantastic isn’t it!

So that is one reason why you need to learn how to really use and understand the internet. You need to get a digital education.

You need to learn not to be afraid to try.

Yes, some of it is technical and you may not enjoy it but once you learnt it then you can outsource it, but that is for the future, and let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

So how can you share your passion and interests, the information that you already have.

The easiest way is through a blog and we’ll be looking at how to set up a blog and to make it work to build and share your passion.

The next stage is to build your email list and to create a fan base. We all have to start from nothing, so do not despair and think but how am I going to do this.

I’ll walk you through the relationship building with your subscribers and how to market a product on line.
